Tags are a handy tool to categorize your tasks within the app to make it easier to look up a specific topic.
Each tag consists of a name and a color for simple visual indication. The list of all tags is at the bottom of the Sidebar to access them to view, edit, or delete.
Creating a tag
There are several ways to create a tag.
You can start typing the tag on a Mac when editing a task and hit Return when done. It will create a new tag and allow you to specify its color. Also, the new tag will appear on the Sidebar. Alternatively, you can use the File ▸ New Tag command to create an empty tag.
On iPhone or iPad, tap the tags field when editing a task, and tap + button in the top right corner of Tags popover.
Assign an existing tag
To assign an existing tag to a task on a Mac, start typing its name and pick it from the suggestions popup. Also, you can drag a task to a tag in the Sidebar to assign it.
On iPhone or iPad, tap the tags field and pick one or several tasks you want to assign to a task.
Rename tag
There are several ways to rename a tag on a Mac:
- Double click the tag in the Sidebar
- Select a tag in Sidebar and modify its name in the toolbar.
Deleting a tag
If you no longer need a specific tag, you can delete it from the Sidebar. This will not remove any tasks.
Tags order
You can arrange tags to have a specific order. Taskheat will preserve that order wherever the tags list is presented.
